Final Concept Design

Inspiration Board:

Design Objective:
I've also always been interested in creepy artwork and being able to draw fears. I also work in groups at a time and not just on one project so my artwork designs have groups or "friends" when I work. This design process has four different projects.

Project Overview - Backstory:
My art pieces are designed to resemble how people feel when they're hiding something or holding something in. To some people, some of my pieces may look as if letting go. These pieces are to make be able to relate to others or hold a special meaning to them.

Project # 2

Artwork Title: Letting Out the Good and Breathing In the Bad

Description: This is a girl in her room. It symbolizes people with bad thoughts. When crying, it feels as if the good in life is flowing away, that's what the glowing white people symbolize as they flow down her face. The black air entering the girl is the bad thoughts that take over her head. The red is like electricity which distributes the bad thoughts throughout her head.

Summary: Started off with the sketches. At first I wasn't going to have the whole head in the shot but then changed my mind to make it better. I got the proportions and erased the first sketch and kept the more important sketches with the shape of the head and the hair and the positions of what's inside her head. Then I started coloring her. I don't like normal colors that are used usually for people so I pick abnormal colors like purple or grey or red or blue, in this case purple and her lips blue. I got the facial features first then went on with the rest of the piece. I colored in the white and black and spread the red and made it brighter. When I was satisfied I finished with a simple background. I tried to make it look like a dark room with curtains.

Project #1

Artwork Title: Different
Description: This artwork contains a girl with her very unique features. The only colors I have are red and purple because I like to emphasize different pieces in my artwork. The part where there is no eye is a whole burning and then there's lace tied to hold onto the skin. The mask is sewn to her face to hide from what under. The lace over the mouth area is there for the same reason there's lace for the eye. Her neck is open but it's holding onto the skin on the side using nails and thread. Her hand is a skeleton hand with the unique feature of nail like fingertips that fade to black. My favorite part of this piece is her eye, it's purple to match the mask (and it's my favorite color).

Summary: This artwork took about 4 1/2 hours. Two class periods I worked on it and also worked on it on one off period. To start with an artwork, a sketch of what your want it to look like or the positions of different objects is first. Then when I had what I wanted, I started coloring it in. I have many layers and pieces to make the coloring process easier, also it separates layers of the sketches and the colors apart.

I worked on my script today and went on a table salt adventure

Monday, December 4, 2017

I worked on my script again. I have a lot of progress since the last time I worked on it. The script is about half way done and I should be able to finish the storyboard this week.
