Description:

This is a poster that my uncle asked me to paint for a retreat he's setting up. It's a poster that consists of hills, a dying tree, men fighting, a bridge, a river, a waterfall, a fire, and a few people spread throughout the poster. I'm not sure what the message is in the poster. 

Summary:

I started off with the sky and clouds to get background. I go from the back to the front as if I was painting this physically. But I did skip the step of painting the grass before continuing because I wasn't sure of the color and how realistic it should look. Looking at reference pictures, I noticed that the rivers aren't very blue so I decided to do a light green and white to make it more realistic; and in the background, I made the river whiter with a tint of yellow to capture a sort of sun light reflecting. There's no sun in the poster so I made the the shading look as if it is left of the poster (the lighter river, outlining the tree with a yellow, and getting a bright green to blend in and stick out. Of course, I'm not done with it but I will finish in the first few weeks of summer.

I was trying to figure out how to make the grass look nice and realistic so I didn't get much done today

I might change the horsemen because it looks too weird. I'll try free handing it to make it look better and to fit the style of the painting.

New Idea

Today I started a new idea for the mural. It's just a rough sketch but I think I like this idea better than my other one.

ISD Report

Description:
During the 1st quarter of this semester, I've worked on designing a mural for this class room. I've been focusing on what would go into the mural and what major factors would be in it also. There's no preview of what the mural would look like yet but there's some snippets of what is part of the final design. In this mural, my idea consists of a person with half of them made of the technology and models in the class room  that has been made by students and Cornell.

Resources Used:
I've only been looking at reference pictures and using people as references because I'm using their models. For example, I'm using some of Cornell's most well known models he's done and is being displayed in the public.

Reflection:
During the past quarter, I've been sketching out different models I want to use in my final design. I've also been sketching out the pose I have in my mind to practice the stance I want in the mural. I haven't been able to get a preview of what the mural would look like because I'm still in the beginning stages of picking out what I want and need in this design to be able to convince Cornell why I should be able to paint the mural in his classroom. To help me, I've also started drawing different styles that I like and love for human features to help me practice and be able to use as part  of my final design. I wanted to make this mural a scifi/realistic design that relates to this technology classroom so I may change my first idea to be able to fulfill what I want and what Cornell likes for this project. I wasn't able to start my design at the beginning of the semester and I wasn't able to consistently work on designing because I also worked on my TSA project.

I'm starting to find my kind of style for digital art. I started with eyes, next class i find a different facial feature to work on.

Today I wasn't able to do any computer work. But I was able to help out with  TSA competition project.
